Lynn Brewer will ask USA Today for an apology for its recent article questioning her credentials as an Enron whistle-blower. If the newspaper doesn’t back down, Brewer will take her complaint to the Washington News Council, an organization that handles media disputes. Brewer will file a complaint with the Washington News Council. The nonprofit organization functions as an alternative to litigation in resolving disputes between the media and the people and organizations they cover. If the parties are unable to work through their differences, the News Council holds a formal hearing and issues an opinion on whether the complaints are valid.
